At last, the attachment has ended… =D … Really an eye opener, this attachment was… The hectic life of doctors (especially the interns @ housemen), the quite depressing environment (Miss~~~, 2008), the unexpected scenarios (patients and senior doctors’ scolding, hard-to-get MCs>maybe, sometimes), so on and so forth…
With all these torturous moments, many asked, “Why would you want to get involve in this kind of life?”…
Me: I can only see myself as a doctor, not in other professions…
Oooo, I do hope this answer still remains when my real-world life arrives, later on… >lalala<
Read an article from The Star on the gruesome life of housemen… Wow, working 36 hours for non stop (these guys are ironmen and ironwomen)… Another smack on the head…
Remember some words from a medical student, “You have to burn the midnight oil sampai habis2” and extended by other “… and tambah lagi minyak and lots of caffeine” … How wonderful…
My inner self: Pejal, you can still back out now… It’s not too late…
My other inner self: Oit fareez, your hobby is sleeping!! Camne nak keje 36 jam straight…
Myself: Hurm, I guess I just need to selamba taram je la kan!?
My other self: HuHu,,, don’t taram2 my dear… instill yourself with the powerful inner aura…
>pejal dah start rambling<
Before I start to get memory loss, let me pour some of the memories into this blog about my last three days at HKL..
Day 3
Changed to general surgery ward… Really got a “welcoming” introduction from an MO… >latihan nak jadi doctor, belajar kawal sakit hati<
Met with Dr. Anand, a very nice doctor, who kindly briefed us about the life in that ward… About the cubicles, life as a doctor (generally), stress in the workplace, death of patients, more and more… Really frankly said~
Saw a minor surgery (leg operation, I guess)… Couldn’t see much, the place was quite crowded and x mau kaco doctors and nurses involved…
Day 4
Still in the same ward… Since Dr Anand was nowhere to be found (cyan dia bz) and we were bored and some doctors kept staring at us, we kaco2 some medical students… Asking them about life as a medical student; study mode, social mode, lovey-dovey mode… HuHu…
Very encouraging comments received from these bro and sis(s)…
Rather than the discouraging remarks, “I’m losing my life, oh wait, I’ve lost it (someone form paediatric, 2008)”, just to name one…
Day 5For me, this was the most enjoyable one; Forensic Department… Witnessed four autopsies, LIVE!! HuHu,,, At first I thought I’m going to faint or throw out, but I had none of those uncomfortable moments (YEI!!)… One step to become a doctor, maybe; heartless… =P
That night, I watched Bolt with my friends… Really enjoyable and totally a good way to end this hectic week… Rhino, you are my inspiration, =D
